another piece for sideshow. this time of two statues that we decided to make work together for the print

SSC - bucky captain america & satellite soda contest!

so for the last year, ive worked for Sideshow Collectibles. 
and over the last year they started this new product program of including prints with their statues as exclusives.

Last october i painted this up for the Bucky cap premium format statue. first full painting ive ever really done, i felt. so there was a lot of experimenting i did on this piece. very intimidating

yes, i changed the gun haha. i did two versions, this one which is the correct gun bucky uses in the comic, and the print that shipped with the statue with the gun he has there.

i'll be posting the other prints over time.

I tried to combine his WW2 costume with that of the Hydra tights. I wanted to redesign the Hydra logo and streamline it better to better implement as a design element for the costume.

My basic idea is that he is sort of a void of power. Make him a more visual representation of the “abstract” concept. The hole in his chest is where he eats planets. Afterwards his body physically becomes whatever main element of that planet was. So if he eats a star, his body becomes fire.

this is my attempt to un-cornify thanos. i love the character from a concept view, but i always felt he was just plagued by his costume and treatment so he was never fully realized as a huge cosmic threat as he should be.
i brought in the hood motif to try to tie him more visually with death
